Such a crazy weekend!!!
This weekend felt like in school when all your homework is due on one day and you have ten exams that day too hahaha. We were BUSY!!! But that is what we aim for!! haha

Our stake had a young women work shop before womens conference and we did a teaching portion for the girls. It was fun. We talked about missionary work (surprise!) and talked about the basic things we do and about our life. We also had a box that the young women would write a question and put it in the box. Everyone had such great questions. like how long do our skirts need to be? is it good to speak another language when preparing for a mission? what is the MTC like? Such great questions! It was fun. I hope they all just go on a mission hahaha I'd be so excited.

We also sang for a missionary fireside and are singing at zone conference this up-coming week. Like what?! Things I never imagined I'd be doing on my mission haha. Singing infront of a large group of people!!!

Last Monday sister Hiatt rolled her ankle. It was pretty bad. But it's healing great! You can finally see her ankle bone! Now its just purple and green and black bruises haha ew. Poor sister. Wobbling from apt to apt haha. I love her so much haha she is so great.

Also, something pretty fun was some members in our ward (Dalhousie) took pictures of us! haha the mom and dad love photography and so we went over for lunch and had a mini photo-shoot haha it is SO FUN!!! reminds me of home haha.

Our investigators are doing well too! We were able to teach a lot this week which is always the best part of the week! And we were able to watch womens conference! How great was that?! All about the family and how we need to defend our values. Wow! I felt the spirit a lot during that conference. Makes me so excited for General Conference! Hope everyone feels the spirit and gets answers to there questions!!

Love,
Sister Heinzlmeir

that's right... we found a GIANT remote at a members hahahaha #universal

Fun surprises!

What a week! You are in for a good update, we had some great experiences this week haha

This week sister Hiatt and I went to go visit a less-active we are working with. She lives in an apartment building and sometimes we get lost haha there are a lot of floors and we always mix up who lives on what floor! So anyway.. we go on this floor (thinking it was hers) and start knocking on the door. No answer. Which seemed odd because she buzzed us in. So I knock louder thinking she just didn't hear. Then a lady from the apartment across from us yells through her door "are you knocking on my door?" .. awkwardly we said no and we were coming to see her neighbor. She asked us if we were collecting. We told her a bit of who we were but not very much. Considering the conversation was us talking to a door in a hallway. It got quiet and still no answer from who we were looking for. So I awkwardly turn to the door across the hall and asked if she was religious. Sister Hiatt gave me a weird look. I would have too haha it was weird. But because she is a great companion she had my back and asked talked about our purpose. The lady said she would open the door but she couldn't because she wasn't dressed for guests but she loved what we were teaching. So we continued to teach her. through the door. In the hall. hahaha. She finally cracked it open. We gave her our number, read scriptures and even prayed with her. We hope she will call us back and let us come over again! Hahah it was so funny though. And yeah.. so the less-active texted us and reminded us what floor she was on. it was the best. I like to think the spirit guided us and that we weren't just lost hahah.

Also, we have an investigator named Joanne who is the BEST. We have met with her twice. We went over Saturday night and she right away told us that she was coming to church tomorrow. We were happily surprised! We had a great lesson and set a baptismal date with her! She is very prepared! Its the best! She kept saying something in her life was missing and she wanted to see if this was it. She has a husband and a 5yr old son and is a nurse. She has a great life. But it proves that you truly can have all the things in the world but still not have true joy. That peace and joy only comes from Christ. So sunday comes and we were waiting to greet her and sit with her but we couldn't see her anywhere! so doubt filled my heart, thinking it was too good to be true. Finding someone so prepared. The bishops starts to greet everyone so we slowly and sadly walk into the chapel and ta-dah! There was Joanne! Sitting in the chapel!! We ran to sit by her and she told us she was early so she just came in! She looked beautiful and so happy! It was the best.

What a great week! I truly saw many miracles this week. Makes me feel so happy! Thank you for all you do in helping your local missionaries and being such a support to me and others! You make the difference. Love you all!

Love,
Sister Heinzlmeir

meet my district! 2 transfers strong!

we are a good bunch hahaha

pretty sisters <3 love them!

So our district got stuck doing a musical number for the mission fireside at the end of the month and we are getting elder Kendall to play piano for us. He is AMAZING at the piano! Anyway.. we were kinda not sounding great so Elder Kendall got out a white board and taught us music theory hahaha we are getting better!

Transfer calls!!!!
Me and sister Hiatt are staying together!! YAY!!! We are very happy about that!! Actually, our whole district is staying the same! I have never had that happen before! Probably because the last two transfers were huge, things are settling down finally hahah. Not as many changes this time. Sister Brimhall is getting transferred to Brandon!! do you know what that means? I still get to go on exchanges with her!! hahah we died. I don't think we will ever be apart for the rest of our mission. Sister Smith is staying in Regina. Last transfer for her! ah! Craziness!! All in all I feel great about this coming transfer.

Things are starting to pick up in both areas now! (Dalhousie and Waverly). We found a new investigator this week and oh my goodness she is so prepared!! We had her info but didn't know if she was a member or less-active or what! We had some time to kill and we were in the Waverly part of the city so we thought it would be good to get to know people more! So we go to see her and she lets us in right away and was so happy and cheerful. We figured it was a member by how happy she was to see us. Then she tells us about herself and tells she is not a member, but her husband is less-active but still loves the church and knows its true. She said they recently got married, she is catholic, and she wants their family to be close and unified so she wants to convert. She said we have to help her because quitting drinking coffee is hard and she doenst understand all the doctrine. She said that she had a baptismal date a while ago but life got in the way and we are her 3rd set of sisters to see her. She said 3rd time was the charm and wants to make it happen! She asked if we could come back this next week and help her learn so she can make her family closer. um... YES!!!!!! the whole lesson we pretty much just sat there and ouuu'd and ahh'd while she ranted about how excited but nervous she is and how she wants to be baptized. hahaha like are you serious? It was the BEST!!!!!

Another fun moment this week was at church. Both wards had a get sacrament meeting. We go to Dalhousie first, then go to Waverly. In Waverly the speakers were actually members of the Dalhousie ward. The Nucums. They are the best! We had dinner with them this week and they brought it up in their talks! Sister Nucum told everyone how important it is to get to know your missionaries and have them over for dinner and to learn from them. Then she said how missionaries from their ward (us and the elders) had dinner with them and it was so fun. She said that at the table we all were laughing and having a blast. That we are just a bunch of teenagers and were having a great meal together. But when we taught the lesson after dinner she said it was like listening to apostles. She said the spirit we bring into their home is amazing and how we teach and testify with the spirit. She said there is no doubt that we are disciples of Jesus Christ. That really hit me. Sometimes as missionaries we just go with the flow and are so used to how things go. Get busy with the work and just live the life we have grown to know and love. But to take a minute to really think about who we are and who we represent was very powerful. I am thankful for all the members who have ever h ad me in their home. It is such a blessing. And I am so thankful that I get to be a disciple of Christ. To teach and testify of him. I know He lives and I will tell everyone I see that beautiful truth.

Sister Heinzlmeir

Hello Everyone!

Best news ever... TANICE GOT BAPTIZED!!!!! It was amazing!!!!! Satan sure worked hard to not let it happen though! Tanice's mom was at the house and told us that she doesn't think Tanice is ready. We were like uh.. what? then she asked Tanice why she wanted to get baptized and Tanice blanked and said she didn't know! I was getting a little angry in my head haha like Tanice common! You know this! She finally answered and said the cutest things ever. So her mom then started to feel the spirit and had a smile and said she feels like she could get baptized now. Oh my goodness haha we were freaking out inside!! But it shows.. good always wins haha. We bought Tanice a cute little dress for the big day and oh my goodness she was beaming with joy!! After she got out of the font (she actually had to get baptized twice because her uncle, who baptized her, raised the wrong arm.. she felt lucky haha) She told us that she felt all her lies be washed away. I love her so much!! I am so proud of her.

Also, We went on exchanges with the YSA sisters! I went with sister Stevenett! So much fun! Sister Brimhall has done an amazing job training her. She is such a great missionary! We were able to see a lot of miracles on the exchange. It's fun seeing how much she has grown since she first came to the mission field!

We get transfer calls this week! This transfer went by so fast! AH! Sister Hiatt and I think we will stay together again. I sure hope so! I love her so much! We have so many laughs and good times. She teaches me so much every day. She is very independent and always stands up for what she believes in. She is bold and loving and is such a diligent and hard worker.

We had interviews with President this week, Its always fun seeing him and being able to talk! He is so funny. Such a big teddy bear. He really has given this mission everything. I can't believe he goes home soon and we get our new President. It will sure feel weird! Oh and get this.. Sister Smith goes home in 1 transfer! ah! crazy. Time is flying!

I also gave my very first sacrament talk on my mission haha! I don't know how I have been able to dodge that bullet for a whole year but I guess it was about time. I spoke in the Waverly ward. It was on service. I based it off of the talk elder Holland gave in the November 2014 general conference called "are we not all beggars?". It is seriously so amazing. You should read it! I am so blessed to be a missionary and to have the chance to sere every single day all day for a year and a half. It makes me so happy!! Thank you all for you support and love! have a great week!

Love,
Sister Heinzlmeir

I'm just going to add (this is Kelly, the Mamma) that she sent no pics this week, nor did she have time for my own email because their car was about to be towed and they literally had to run after it!  I guess Missionaries don't get free parking. ;)

Freedom to Read...

This week we went on exchanges in Brandon! So fun! I love that little place. There are so many Spanish people there! We even have Spanish Elders serving there. That is the only Spanish area/other language then English are in the whole mission! Which is crazy because there are so many different languages in this neck of the woods! But anyway, So we drove down and I went on exchanges with Sister Allen. She is really great. We played basketball with a bunch of Catholics and Sister Allen killed it! She is very good at basketball! I tried my best but I'm not the greatest haha I'm better at being the cheerleader on the sidelines. I'd love to see sister Brimhall and Sister Allen play 1 on 1. I feel like it would be legendary haha. We also got to attend a members bridal shower. It was fun! All the young women came, it was their activity. There was yummy food and fun games! Too bad Sister Hiatt and I had no idea who the lady getting married was haha. #ithappens

So Sister Hiatt and I have really been focusing on finding new investigators the past few weeks and this week we did something so fun! We sign up for this "banned book marathon". It's where you read from a pulpit out loud from a banned or challenged book to an audience. Something about "freedom to read". Anyway, we did that! We signed up and read from the book of Mormon! The book of Mormon has been challenged so much! It was perfect! We read in 3 Nephi where Christ comes to the people in the Americas. It was so powerful! There was this one girl in the front row and her eyes were glued to sister Hiatt as she read. I was praying the whole time that the spirit would just touch their hearts. It felt good after knowing we gave so many people the chance to really hear from the book of Mormon. It was really neat!

Unfortunately Tanice Did not get baptized this week, but all is in order for it to happen on the 7th of March. Her grandparents have custody of her and her siblings while her mom is in rehab. Her mom really wanted to be at the baptism but could only come out for visits after a certain amount of time so it got moved back a week so she can make it. I'm so excited! Tanice even wrote a story in school about her baptism and how it will go and how she is so excited! Melts my heart. I love her so much!

Things are warming up in Winnipeg which feels nice! I'm enjoying it a lot! I feel so blessed to be a missionary! I love sister Hiatt so much. She is such a hard worker and we really serve so well together! I hope we stay together for a long time!! Thank you everyone for all you do for me! I feel so uplifted by your thoughts and prayers and appreciate it all so much! love you all!

Love,
Sister Heinzlmeir
